BEFORE

Everything you require for your float will be provided for you.

All you need to bring is YOU.

However, we do have some recommendations for you to make the most of your float experience we suggest:

Avoid caffeine or any stimulants 4-6 hours ahead of your float. This can interrupt the relaxation process.

• Ensure you have eaten. A snack or small meal 60-90 minutes ahead of time can reduce the chances of your float being interrupted by hunger. A rumbling tummy can be quite a disruption within the sensory tank. Equally if having not eaten that day, thoughts of food may similarly disrupt your ability to relax.

• Don’t shave the day of your float. Shaving can irritate the skin and this can become a little sore within the saltwater solution.
• Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled slot. We advise you to arrive 15 minutes before your float to give you time to check-in, enter your private room and have a shower to rinse off your day before entering the tank.
• Use the bathroom. If possible we advise you to use the bathroom before your float as this will give less chance of interruption.

• Avoid caffeine or any stimulants 4-6 hours ahead of your float. This can interrupt the relaxation process.

At Floatopia Ibiza we provide you with:

• Towel

• Ear plugs

• Vaseline (to cover any cuts with)

• Dressing room complete with hair dryer and a few other essentials

(Please note no swim suit is necessary during your float but can be worn if you would be more comfortable.)

DURING

After the shower we recommend thoroughly drying your face and putting earplugs provided in.
We recommend entering the pod slowly and lying on your back. Then allowing your head to relax and let the salt water support you (be careful not to touch your eyes as the salt water will sting). A halo can be provided if you would like additional support for the head.

At first you may find it difficult to find the most comfortable position so we recommend trying different positions to see what is most comfortable.Popular positions are:
• arms above the head,
• arms under the head for support
• arms simply down by the side

Figuring this out early on will help you to be more comfortable throughout your float.

The first time within the social deprivation tank you may find it a little hard to let go. But consider it the same as riding a bike; the more you float the easier you will find it to rest and reach your meditative state.

Music will be played during the first 10 minutes of your float and then this will slowly fade away leaving you to totally R.E.S.T. Especially for first timers or anyone worried about feeling anxious or claustrophobic within the tank there is the option to keep the lid tank open, or to keep the lights on throughout. There is also an alert button so you are able to call reception if you needed to.

5 minutes before the end of the session the music will fade back in to let you know your time is almost up. At first you may keep worrying about how long you have left; this is normal. The more you float the less this should happen and having an awareness of the music 5 minutes before may also help this.

AFTER

After your float session it is important to thoroughly rinse off in the shower, shampoo, conditioner and body wash will be provided. We also have a dressing room containing hair dryers and other essentials to get you ready for the day.

If possible take a little extra time in the chill out area to process your thoughts and enjoy your newly renewed, revived, relaxed state. There is the option to enjoy a tea before going on to win your day.

At Floatopia Ibiza we recommend regular floating sessions. The more regular you float, the better. Just like any activity, the more you practice, the better you become, and the more cumulative effects you will see. Many clients find that floating once or twice a week provides the most benefits.
